We developed a comprehensive custom OpenWrt firmware solution for an enterprise networking equipment manufacturer, enabling advanced routing features, VPN capabilities, and centralized management for SMB and enterprise deployments.
The solution included custom package feeds, kernel modules, web UI enhancements, and integration with cloud management platforms for remote configuration and monitoring.

Created custom package feeds with OpenWrt SDK, developed makefiles for proprietary applications, and integrated custom kernel modules. Automated builds with CI/CD pipeline for reproducible firmware images.
Implemented FRRouting for dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), integrated OpenVPN and WireGuard, added VLAN and bridge management enhancements, and developed SD-WAN overlay capabilities.
Developed device tree overlays for custom hardware, integrated switch chip drivers (Realtek, Marvell), added support for custom wireless modules, and optimized bootloader (U-Boot) configuration.
Optimized packet processing with flow offloading, implemented nftables-based firewall with connection tracking, integrated Suricata IDS, and added secure boot support with signed firmware updates.
