Carrier-Grade Broadband Gateway Solution

We implemented a complete RDK-B (Reference Design Kit for Broadband) platform for a next-generation residential gateway, enabling ISPs to deploy standardized, remotely manageable broadband devices with advanced features.

The solution provides a unified software framework across multiple hardware platforms, reducing time-to-market and enabling feature consistency across product lines.

  • Multi-vendor Hardware Support: Need to support different SoC platforms (Broadcom, Intel, Qualcomm) with unified software stack
  • TR-069/TR-181 Compliance: Full implementation of Broadband Forum standards for remote management
  • Wi-Fi Management: Advanced Wi-Fi features including band steering, client isolation, and guest networks
  • Security Requirements: Secure boot, encrypted firmware updates, and vulnerability management
  • Performance Optimization: Achieving wire-speed routing and NAT performance across all WAN types

Comprehensive RDK-B Implementation

Our engineering team developed a complete RDK-B integration with custom components and optimizations:

Platform Architecture

Implemented RDK-B stack with CcspWifiAgent, CcspPandM, TR-069 agent, and custom HAL layers for hardware abstraction. Integrated with Yocto build system for reproducible builds.

Wi-Fi Features

Developed advanced Wi-Fi management including WPS, WMM, band steering, smart connect, and seamless roaming support. Integrated hostapd with RDK-B Wi-Fi HAL.

Security Framework

Implemented secure boot chain, signed firmware updates via ACS, firewall rules management, and intrusion detection integration. Added WPA3 and enhanced open support.

Performance Tuning

Optimized packet forwarding paths, implemented hardware NAT acceleration, tuned memory management, and enabled multi-core packet processing for gigabit throughput.
